The first prototype of the Bayraktar Kizilelma stealth fighter drone was completed in June 2022. The first flight of the two prototypes is expected to be in 2023. "We assembled the prototype of the 2nd Kizilelma series, which we prepared for the Samsun exhibition," Selcuk Bayraktar was quoted as saying by Bulgarian Military, Tuesday (30/8/2022).

Turkish company Baykar has officially launched the Bayraktar Kizilelma Drone

The Bayraktar Kizilelma stealth fighter drone was developed under the MIUS project (Muharip nsansız Uçak Sistemi or Unmanned Combat Aircraft System/UCAS). This stealth fighter drone was presented only on August 4, 2021, or a year after the Bayraktar Kizilelma reached the prototype stage.

According to data provided by the company, the Bayraktar Kizilelma stealth fighter drone is capable of flying at an operating altitude of 12,000 meters. The combat drone has a take-off weight of 5.5 tonnes and carries a payload of 1.5 tonnes, including one tonne of ammunition.

The first drone prototype (MIUS-A) is capable of traveling to near supersonic speeds with the Ukrainian-made AI-25TLT engine. Meanwhile, the second drone prototype (MIUS-B) will reach supersonic speeds with the Ukrainian-made AI-322F engine and the Turkish-made TEI TF-6000 engine.

The MIUS-B will have a 2.5 times more powerful engine, which will significantly differentiate it from the MIUS-A in terms of technical characteristics. It is assumed that the stealth combat drone of the MIUS project will be launched from the universal landing craft TCG Anadolu [L-400] without the aid of a catapult system.

The estimated characteristics of the Bayraktar Kizilelma are a maximum speed of 900 km/h, a cruising speed of 740 km/h, and a combat range of 930 km. This combat drone will be able to stay in the air for about 5 hours at a maximum operating altitude of 10,700 meters.
