International Military - Uralvagonzavod is a large-scale Russian tank factory located in Nizhny Tagil. Launching the Russia Beyond page, this factory was built in 1936 and was completed during the war in 1941. Of course, this factory became a strong production base for the Soviet Union, even being called the heart of the Soviet tank industry.

During World War II, Uralvagonzavod became the largest tank manufacturer, not only in the Soviet Union, but also in the world. One of the flagship tanks produced by this factory is the T-34. Of course, this tank has a very good balance of firepower, maximum mobility, and armor protection.

After World War II ended, Uralvagonzavod expanded to produce other tools. Call it agricultural tools, aviation (including space), and construction. In the 1960s and 1970s, an engineer Uralvagonzavod developed the largest armored vehicle of the era, the T-72. To this day, the tank is still the mainstay of countries in the world.

The factory, also known as the Urals, continues to innovate by launching new types of tanks. In the 2000s, Ural produced a new T-90 tank equipped with a 125 mm smoothbore gun. In addition, the T-90 has the ability to fire anti-tank cruise missiles, reactive armor, and also super-advanced optical electronic weapons.

In March 2022, Ural is said to have stopped its production due to the limited supply of spare parts that are indeed supplied from foreign countries. According to Newsweek, some Ural assets in the UK were frozen on February 24, 2022 and subject to sanctions from the European Union, March 15, 2022.

The Urals were sanctioned for sending their tank, the T-72B3, to the Russian army and used during the invasion of Ukraine. Therefore, the European Union considers that Uralvagonzavod also supports actions that could threaten the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
