This is not some sort of exotic idea; it is the reality," says Russian Deputy PM Yuri Borisov. (AP)

International Military - The performance of the Russian army which had been disappointing is now gradually starting to show its strength again. Russian soldiers are starting to rise up by using laser weapons against Ukrainian military drones. Of course, this situation made the battle even more intense.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is still receiving shipments of weapons from the international community. This did not make Russia afraid to develop a new war strategy. The great battle between Russian and Ukrainian troops in the Donbas region, a combination of drones and artillery, became the protagonist on the battlefield.

And suppose the Russian army uses anti-aircraft missiles to attack small Ukrainian UAVs or consumer UAVs. That would increase costs, and the Russian military would quickly lose its air defense weapons. Also, missiles are an expensive method of countering small drones.

According to Defense View, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister claims that Russian troops in Ukraine are using a new laser to destroy Ukrainian drones at this critical time. Zelensky was quick to interview the media, calling Russia's laser counter-drone system a magic weapon introduced by Nazi Germany at the end of World War II.

We are talking, in particular, about the laser complex "Zadira", which is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to five kilometers, said Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov. Russia has deployed a new generation of powerful 'secret' laser weapons in the fight against Ukraine known as the "Zadira" laser system that can silently fire up drone targets in the sky "in five seconds".

Moscow unveiled a new weapon against Ukraine's Baykar Bayraktar TB2 which was deployed near the snake island to prevent Russia's domination of the Black Sea. Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 armed UAVs, infrared cameras for night operations and GPS-GNSS anti-jammer antennas have been patrolling the waters near Odesa.

Moscow's newly deployed laser weapon system is capable of incinerating its targets up to 3 miles away, destroying physical objects located 5 kilometers away, and blinding satellites up to 1,500 km above Earth. But Moscow is known to keep much more powerful systems than the Peresvet in its arsenal.

What is the Use of Russian Army Laser Weapons in Ukraine?

One of the more significant possibilities is experimentation. The weapons Russia claims are used are mounted on armored trucks. A senior US defense official said the US had seen no evidence to support Russia's claim that it used laser weapons in Ukraine. The number of such weapons and equipment is minimal.

There may only be one set, which can only be considered a weapon that underwent actual combat tests. Second, it may reflect the severe shortage of anti-aircraft missiles in the Russian army.

Ukraine says Russia has fired more than 2,000 missiles at Ukraine, exhausting most of its air and surface-to-surface missile defenses. Now, the Russian military must find a cheaper alternative to air defense protection. The main strengths of the Russian field air defense system are Doyles and armor, which are effective against small drones, but they are completely inedible.

Especially in the face of many Chinese-made consumer drones, there is often no suitable means of attack. It also hints that the Russian army is preparing for a long-term war of attrition.

From the very beginning Russia recruited older contract soldiers from the country, organized a new reserve combat force, changed tactics in Ukraine, and then started using laser weapons, it proves that the Russian army has learned war in war and uses defense more effectively.

There are many kinds of developments taking place around the world in the field of laser weapons. We can say that laser weapons will be more effective and capable of changing wars in the future. Many countries are trying hard to achieve successful results in this area.
