Russian Air Strike Destroys Tanks Received From Eastern European Countries in Kiev

International Military - Russian airstrikes destroy foreign-supplied tanks in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. The claim was disclosed by Moscow on Sunday (5/6/2022).

Quoted from RT.com, Major General Igor Konashenkov spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) said this during a routine briefing. "Russian troops carried out air strikes on the outskirts of Kiev, destroying T-72 tanks and other armored vehicles received from Eastern European countries and stored in carriage repair facilities," Konashenkov said.

he did not specify where the tanks came from, but Poland had previously said it had donated T-72 tanks to Ukraine. Konashenkov said military targets were also hit in the Donbass, as well as in eastern and southern Ukraine, including several US-made rocket launchers and mobile counterfire radars.

The General Staff of Ukraine previously reported that Kiev was among the areas hit by Russian troops. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that one person was hospitalized.
