On Wednesday, January 26, 2022 India showcased its fighting prowess in the Indian Republic Day parade. Indian military troops accompanied by tanks, armored fighting vehicles and the roar of warplanes attracted the public's attention during the parade.

Military and police battalions lined up and walked past Indian officials including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This military parade was not attended by foreign honorary guests because it was still in the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Reporting from AFP, very tight security was applied in the Indian Republic Day parade. The rows of military defense equipment that India also exhibited were also marked by the presence of the Dassault Rafale fighter jet.

During the 90-minute parade, 75 Indian Air Force warplanes flew through the sky including Rafale jets, helicopters and a row of other warplanes and transport aircraft.

India has indeed bought this French-made Rafale fighter jet and has signed a contract for 26 units (2 squadrons) of Rafale. The contract value for the purchase of Indian Rafale fighter jets is quite fantastic with a total fund of 9.4 billion US dollars (equivalent to Rp. 139.78 trillion).

India is also one of the largest Rafale operators in Asia today. Following India, Indonesia is also in further talks and is even ready to sign a contract to purchase the Rafale with France.
