International Military - Shenyang J-11 or Jian-11, is a twin-engine air superiority fighter based on the Sukhoi Su-27SK Flanker B + design. The Shenyang J-11 fighter aircraft was made by China to compete with US-made aircraft, such as the Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon or the Boeing F/A-18 Hornet.

The Shenyang J-11 fighter jet is highly maneuverable and capable of performing air superiority and ground attack missions. The J-11 fighter, made by the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC), is operated by the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF).

Quoted from airforce-technology, the Shenyang J-11 was designed based on the Su-27SK, the Shenyang J-11 fighter fuselage is made of titanium and aluminum alloy. The fuselage section integrates the cockpit, radar section and avionics bay.

The basic version of the Shenyang J-11 incorporates Russian components. Meanwhile, the domestically made J-11B fighter uses the same fuselage, but is equipped with Chinese-made avionics and weapons systems.

The Shenyang J-11 fighter is 21.9 meters long, has a wingspan of 14.7 meters and is 5.9 meters high. The Shenyang fighter has a wingspan of 62 square meters and a maximum take-off weight of 33,000 kg.

The cockpit of the Shenyang J-11 fighter is piloted by a pilot. The cockpit features a color multifunction display (MFD), a head-up display (HUD), a helmet-mounted view (HMS) and a native digital flight control system. The avionics suite integrates an IFF system interrogator, an automatic direction finder, an electro-optical search and track system, an INS/GPS navigation system, a fire control radar and a native multifunction pulse-Doppler radar.

The Shenyang J-11's electronic countermeasures equipment includes a radar warning receiver, a chaff and flare ejection system, and a radio jamming transmitter.

The Shenyang J-11 fighter jet is powered by two Lyulka AL-31F or FWS-10A Taihang turbofan engines. Each engine is capable of developing a thrust of 75.22kN / 89.17kN and an afterburner thrust of 123kN / 132kN.

The FWS-10A TaiHang turbofan engine was introduced at the 6th Zhuhai Air Show in 2006. The engine is believed to be similar to the Russian-made AL-31F turbofan engine in terms of technology and performance.

The Shenyang J-11 fighter is capable of flying at a maximum altitude of 19,000 meters and has a maximum speed of Mach 2.35 and a range of 3,530 km. The maximum flight speed at sea level without external weapons and storage is 1,400 km/h.

The Shenyang J-1 fighter is armed with a 30 mm GSh-30-1 cannon and ten hard points capable of carrying various missiles. The missile, which is embedded, is a PL-12 radar-guided air-to-air missile, a PL-9 short-range air-to-air missile (AAM). These included the infrared-homing PL-8 air-to-air missile, Vympel R-77 medium-range air-to-air missile, Vympel R-27 medium-range air-to-air missile, and Vympel R-73 short-range air-to-air missile.

The PL-12 missile carries a high-explosive fragmentation warhead for a maximum range of 100 km. The aircraft also carries an unguided rocket launcher and free-falling cluster bombs.
