Kiev - The news that was blown by Alexey Muratov, Deputy Secretary of the Donetsk branch of the "United Russia" party, that Russia captured a Ukrainian Leopard 2A4 tank, became very interesting. However, so far there is no evidence, either in the form of photos or an official statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, so the truth cannot be confirmed.

Quoted from the Bulgarian Military, according to Muratov, a Leopard 2A4 tank manned by Polish mercenaries was captured in the area of the city of Bakhmut. It's just that, until now there is no evidence of Ukrainian Leopard 2A4 tanks captured by Russian troops, either in the form of photos or official statements from the Russian military.

The Russian Defense Ministry also made no mention of the capture of the Ukrainian Leopard 2A4 tank. In the military department's daily summary for March 1, 2023, during the battle near Bakhmut there was no mention of the capture of a Leopard 2A4 tank.

The Bulgarian Military said it could not confirm the credibility of Muratov's claim that he first floated news of the capture of a Ukrainian Leopard 2A4 tank. It is known that the "United Russia" party is the political party of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Currently, Ukraine is confirmed to have four units of Leopard 2A4 tanks aid from Poland which just arrived on Friday 24 February 2023. These four Leopard 2A4 tanks were the first to arrive in Kiev of the 14 units of aid tanks promised by Poland.

"Poland, as the first country to successfully build the Leopard coalition, as the first European country, gives you the first @ZelenskyyUa 4 Leopards," said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Twitter, Friday 24 February 2023.

Ukraine is expecting more Leopard Tanks, including Challenger 2 and Abrams Tanks, to face Russia. Ukrainian crews are currently being trained on how to operate the three types of tanks.

Commander of the Ukrainian Army Valery Zaluzhny told The Economist in December 2022 that his party needed a lot of war machine assistance to retake Ukrainian territory controlled by Russia. "I need 300 tanks, 600-700 IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicles), 500 Howitzers," he was quoted as saying on The War Zone's page.
