International Military - The Ukrainian military has requested MK-20 cluster bombs from the United States (US). The request for weapons was submitted by Russia to fight Russia on the battlefield. The United States House Armed Services Committee says Ukrainian officials are pressuring United States lawmakers at the Munich Security Conference in February 2023.

Ukraine hopes that the request will be forwarded to the White House soon. MK-20 which is also known as CBU 100 has a number of dangers.

1. Banned by Over 120 Countries

The MK-20 cluster weapon is banned from use by more than 120 countries. This cluster bomb contains many small bombs. The bomb will spread when released from the air. It is known, Ukraine asked the United States to send MK-20 cluster bombs.

In operation, MK-20 is released from the air. In addition, the MK-20 contains more than 240 sub-munitions such as darts or small bombs. In 2016, production of the MK-20 was discontinued.

2. Threatening the Safety of Civilians
