South African company Paramount Group Launches New Marauder Mark 2 Armored Vehicle

International Military - South African defense company, Paramount Group, has launched the Marauder Mark 2, the latest model of the world-famous MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) armored vehicle.

The Marauder Mark 2 features a number of new features, with a significant advantage on all battlefields and in asymmetric warfare, and improves crew capability and vehicle performance.

Meanwhile the company has also strengthened manufacturing efficiency, resulting in increased production and delivery rates to customers worldwide.

The Marauder Mark 2 offers a universal hull and interchangeable dashboard modules. Allows to be produced in left or right steering system configurations. Can be configured as an armored personnel carrier (APC) or as an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) through the addition of a suitable weapon system.

The vehicles can be relied on for a variety of missions such as peacekeeping, border patrol, counterinsurgency or national defense, which can often occur in harsh and remote areas of operation.

The Marauder Mark 2 is capable of operating in areas with temperatures of –20 to +50 degrees Celsius and can be used with efficiency for remote operation or rapid reactions. Able to lauched up to 110 km / h on flat roads.

Day/night vision devices and additional sensors can also be installed to provide full 24-hour operation in extreme conditions. The Marauder Mark 2 offers class-leading mine and ballistic protection for its two crew in the front cockpit, and up to eight heavily armed soldiers in the rear.

The vehicle has a double-layer monocoque hull that is protected against mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Also equipped with a specially designed explosion-proof seat, can prevent injuries from extreme acceleration from side explosions or mine explosions under the hull.
