- After getting the T 90M, now it's Russia's turn to show strength by having a new type of tank. It is known, the Russian military will raise the amphibious 'Tank Buster Devil'. This tank will be made by Rostec has a firepower similar to the T-90.

Quoted from the Eurasian Times, Vladimir Artyakov, Rostec's first deputy CEO, broke the news to Sputnik. “It has already passed the state test. In the near future, we hope to put the O1 label on this prototype, after which the vehicle can be introduced into service,” said Artyakov.

The designation O1 usually indicates modification of the engineering documentation based on test results. The upgraded 2S25 tank destroyer is an amphibious armored vehicle equipped with an artillery missile system.

According to Artyakov, this machine is very mobile and maneuverable. It is also capable of navigating water obstacles without special training and can fire simultaneously. Tank destroyers are supposed to be capable of fighting in high-altitude environments, tropical climates, and marshy terrain.

Rostec Deputy CEO said “Its firepower is on par with main battle tanks such as the T-80 and T-90. In terms of mobility on land and water, it is on par with the BMD-4M and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. This vehicle is a cut above others in Russia and the world.”

Please note, the 2S25 is an armored amphibious vehicle with swimming and maneuverability equivalent to an airborne infantry fighting vehicle. It is equipped with a 125mm anti-tank gun, guided missile control hardware, day/night sight with sight and range channel, and gunner sight.

A 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and a stabilized 125mm two-axis smoothbore tank gun are the main armaments. The vehicle can operate in high mountains and challenging terrain thanks to its high power-to-weight ratio.

Meanwhile, its capabilities are enhanced by the installation of rubber-coated shoes or snow tracks. The 2S25 can completely sink a quarter of its cross-country speed. The armor is also light because it is made of aluminum alloy.

Quoted from Military Leak, Russia had previously received the T-90M tank from Uralvagonzavod (UVZ). It is known, the first three deliveries totaled up to 26 tanks. The newest T 90M 'Proryv' tank has received an essentially new turret.

This includes the supply of the 2A46M-5 gun and the new 1130 hp V-92S2F engine. The main feature of this tank is the modernization of the old turret design which is equipped with the new advanced fire control system “Kalina”.
