International Military - There are already many stealth fifth-generation fighter jets today. Call it the J-20 Mighty Dragon, F-35 Lightning II, to the F-22 Raptor. In addition, there is the Su-57, a fighter jet that is claimed to be a competitor to the F-22 Raptor. Interestingly, although both aircraft were operational, there was no prolonged production.

Reporting from Military Watch Magazine, production of the F-22 was stopped and given away less than four years after the fighter joined the Air Force, while the Su-57 began serial production only in 2018. Different fates did not make it the same.

The F-22 has the advantage of superior stealth capabilities, however, the Su-57 has several key advantages ranging from the much newer air-to-air missiles.

In addition, the Su-57 also has its greater maneuverability, use of six radars instead of one, and the ability to operate without a radar signature using infrared sensors. Outside of air-to-air combat, however, the Su-57's advantages are far more pronounced due to its less specialized design. This is because the F-22 was originally designed without an air-to-ground capability.

In contrast, the Su-57 was designed from the start to be capable of strike, anti-ship and electronic attack roles such as in air-to-air combat.

Reporting from 19fortyfive.com, the F-22 Raptor and Su-57 are known to have the same speed. The Raptor has a top speed of 1,599 mph compared to the Su-57's 1,616 mph. However, the Russian Felon outperformed the Raptor in range. This is because Sukhoi aircraft have a range of 3,107 miles to 2,000 miles from Lockheed Martin.

While the Su-57 can exceed the F-22's 50,000 feet altitude, it reaches an astonishing 65,617 feet. All of that certainly gives the Su-57 a bit of an edge. In addition, it has been suggested that the Su-57 ranks last in stealth among the various fifth-generation aircraft and very few have been produced.

However, its stealth abilities should not be overlooked. The Su-57 is not designed to function as a stealth fighter like the F-22, but if the enemy can see it more easily, they can try to shoot it down.
