International Military - Russia's advanced air defense system, the S-400, has shot down a Mi-8 helicopter. It is known that two Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters carried out an attack on a Russian village near the border between the two countries on April 14. However, one of the Mi-8 helicopters was brought down.

The helicopter was hit about 30 km into Ukraine near the city of Gorodnya in the Chernigov Region, according to a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry on April 15. The attack hit the village of Klimovo in Russia's Bryansk Region and left seven residents injured.

Not only that, in this attack, six missiles were also fired by Ukrainian helicopters at low altitude. According to Military Watch Magazine, Russia has warned that it could retaliate for such an attack with an attack on Kiev.

The Defense Ministry stated that this would be “in response to any terrorist attacks and acts of sabotage carried out by the Kiev nationalistic regime on Russian territory.” In addition, Russia's S-400 missiles cannot be underestimated. It is very reliable for airspace defense.

Since first entering service in 2007, the majority of the S-400s have been deployed to compensate for the much smaller size of the Russian Air Force's combat fleet compared to both NATO fleets.

Reporting from Defense View, this is not the first time that Russia has used the S-400 air defense system in the ongoing war.

Earlier on February 25, a Ukrainian Su-27 jet was shot down by Russia's S-400 Triumph Air Defense Missile System over Kyiv. Although this has not been officially confirmed.

Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missiles deployed in Belarus directly shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet over Kyiv at a distance of 150 kilometers and a large meteor shower appeared over Kyiv. This set a new long-range record for shooting down enemy aircraft in actual combat with anti-aircraft missiles.
