President Volodymyr Zelenzky: Russia Attacks Ukraine Like Nazi Germany Did during World War II

International Military - Currently, tensions between Ukraine and Russia are getting unstoppable, Russia is starting to attack Ukraine. Ukraine will not be silent when its country is attacked by Russia.

Quoted by The Eurasian Times, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the government provides weapons to everyone who is able and ready to use them against Russia.

President Zelensky urged all Ukrainians to fight for their homeland against the Russian attack. He also urged companies to continue supplying goods to Ukraine.

According to President Zelensky, Ukraine is now officially severing all ties with Russia. He also stated that Russia had attacked Ukraine in the same way that Nazi Germany did during World War II.

Zelensky claimed that Russia had deployed about 200,000 troops and tens of thousands of military vehicles to the Ukrainian border in preparation for the invasion on February 24.

Now, press secretary of Volodymyr Zelensky, Sergio Nikiforov said that Ukraine and Russia are currently discussing the date and place of possible negotiations, with Kyiv ready to talk about cessation of hostilities and peace.

"I must refute claims that we have abandoned negotiations. Ukraine has been and remains ready to talk about a ceasefire and about peace. This is our permanent position. We have agreed to the proposal of the president of the Russian Federation."

"Currently, the parties are consulting on the place and time of the negotiation process. The sooner the negotiations start, the greater the chances of resuming normal life," Nikiforov said, as quoted by The Eurasian Times by UNIAN news agency.

Is this a sign that Ukraine is surrendering and pleading for peace with Russia? The adviser to the head of Zelenskyy's office, Mykhailo Podolyak, said that Zelensky and Putin could discuss the possibility of Ukraine's neutral status.

"This will mainly be a detailed discussion of peace and cessation of hostilities. Neutral status with a clear package of security guarantees is an option that may also be on the table," Podolak told UNIAN news agency, quoted by The Eurasian Times.

Earlier, during a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Zelensky asked Jerusalem to become a mediator with Russia to help resolve the military conflict.

The request was confirmed to The New York Times by Ukraine's Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk. "We believe that Israel is the only democratic country in the world that has good relations with Ukraine and Russia," said Ukraine's Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk.

Ukraine's military infrastructure and border guard troops were among the first to face Russia's fury. Ukrainian forces later claimed that Russian military vehicles had crossed the borders in Kharkiv in the north, Luhansk in the east, Russian-annexed Crimea in the south, as well as Belarus.

Belarus' autocratic leader, Alexander Lukashenko, stated that his country's military was not involved, but could if necessary. Later, Russian tanks were observed on the outskirts of Kharkiv, a city of 1.4 million people. The Russian military is also said to have arrived by water in Ukraine's main port cities, Odessa on the Black Sea and Mariupol on the Sea of Azov.

The conflict seems to be concentrated in the east. Residents of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, claimed that repeated explosions rattled windows in apartment blocks. However, clashes have also occurred in the north, near Kyiv, and in the south, near the ports of Odessa and Mariupol.

The Ukrainian army reported that the Boryspil international airport in Kyiv, as well as military headquarters and warehouses in the major cities of Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv and Mariupol, had been bombarded. According to Ukrainian officials, Russian helicopters attacked Antonov International Airport, a military airport in Hostomel, near the capital Kyiv.

The Russian military has taken over the airport, according to the Interior Ministry.
