Manila - The White House has announced that the United States Government (US) intends to grant three C-130H Hercules tactical transport aircraft to the Philippine Air Force (PAF). This includes two Island-class patrol boats and two Marine Protector-class patrol boats assigned to the Philippine Navy (PN).

This announcement was made when Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden in Washington DC today, May 2, 2023. The two leaders will reportedly discuss a variety of topics including defense and security, and strengthening the US-Philippines Mutual Defense Agreement.

Quoted from APDJ, all of the donated assets will be transferred from the US Excess Defense Articles (EDA). In addition to the assistance mentioned above, the White House also confirmed that they had handed over two Cyclone-class patrol boats to the Philippine Navy.

The ship has been sailing since last month to the Philippines, departing from the US base in Manama, Bahrain and is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines in May 2023.
