Morocco Finally Agree To Send 20 T-72B Tanks To Ukraine |
Rabat - The Moroccan government has decided to send about 20 T-72B tanks to the Ukrainian troops to counter the Russian attack. The T-72B tank fleet has undergone a full modernization in the Czech Republic.
The Moroccan government's decision was determined at the Ramstein-8 Summit last Friday in Germany. During the meeting government officials from dozens of countries discussed the delivery of heavy equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Morocco purchased a fleet of T-72B tanks from Belarus reserves in 1999 and 2000.
Ukraine currently requires the rapid delivery of state-of-the-art war equipment, as stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky even urged partner countries to send Leopard 2 tanks and F-16 fighter jets.
Poland has agreed to send Leopard 2 tanks. Meanwhile, the Netherlands is considering sending fighter jets to Urkaina, whose decision must first be approved by the United States.
Meanwhile Germany, which initially gave Poland an ultimatum that it would send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, has now softened by saying it will not hinder Warsaw's intention to send Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv.
Germany itself has not yet decided whether to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine or not. Germany is under pressure from the allied community where Berlin is seen as hesitant to provide heavy military equipment to Ukraine.
