| The Russian Ministry of Defense Hands Over New Il-76MD-90A Aircraft to the Russian Aerospace Forces |
Moscow - The Russian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) handed over the new Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS). The Il-76MD-90A is the result of a deep modernization of the legendary Il-76 aircraft, writes the Russian Ministry of Defense. This new aircraft has received new engines and a glass cockpit.
Improvements also include wings and increased flight range and carrying capacity. According to UAC, this is actually a new aircraft that meets the most modern requirements, built from Russian components. This new aircraft forms the basis of Russian transport aviation.
Next year, the Russian Ministry of Defense plans to transfer several more Il-76MD-90A. In general, this year VKS has received a number of Su-30SM2 and Su-35S fighters, Su-34 frontline bombers, and Yak-130 fighter trainers.
