Russian Troops Successfully Destroy 3 US-Made M777 Howitzers in Kherson

Kherson - Russian troops destroyed three US-made M777 howitzers in the Kherson Region and Donetsk People's Republic in recent days during a special military operation in Ukraine. This was stated by the Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, Wednesday (21/12/2022).

"On the territory of the Zelenovka community in the Kherson and Trudovoye Regions of the Donetsk People's Republic, three US-made M777 howitzers were destroyed," Konashenkov said, as quoted by TASS.

It was also reported that Russian forces wiped out the Ukrainian army's Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system and radar in the Kherson Region in recent days. "In the residential area of Belozyorka in the Kherson Region, positions were discovered and Ukrainian Buk-M1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile launchers and P-18 target acquisition radar were destroyed," Konashenkov explained.


Russia has continued to launch attacks in the last 24 hours. Russian operational-tactical aircraft, missile troops and artillery destroyed 63 Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions and military equipment in 87 areas. Konashenkov also said that Russian Air Force troops destroyed an oil depot in the Kharkov Region that supplies fuel to the Ukrainian army.

"In the residential area of Andreyevka in the Kharkov Region, a strike by the Russian Air Force destroyed an oil storage facility that supplies fuel for Ukrainian military hardware," the spokesman said.

Russian troops also eliminated enemy manpower and equipment in the Kupyansk area in recent days, the general added. "In the Kupyansk direction, combined arms strikes against the enemy eliminated as many as 60 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored personnel carriers and three pickup trucks in the area near the settlements Petropavlovka, Peschanoye and Berestovoe in the Kharkov Region," Konashenkov reported.
