International Military - Antonov Company from Ukraine plans to rebuild the world's largest transport aircraft An-225 Mriya after the only aircraft was destroyed by Russia in an attack in February 2022.

The company announced this on November 7, adding a note that the An-225 would be made after Ukraine won the war with Russia.

It is estimated that the cost required to build this aircraft is 500 million US dollars. It was also stated that currently there are about 30% of the components that can be used for the second An-225 aircraft.

Ukraine still has one An-225 that has not yet been completed. "According to preliminary estimates, currently there are about 30% of the usable components for both aircraft models," wrote Antonov.

Meanwhile, the An-225, which had been destroyed by Russia, had been in service for over 30 years. The plane was built during the Soviet Union and destroyed by the Russians at Gostomel Airport, near Kyiv.

The An-225 made its maiden flight in 1988. It was built to transport the Soviet Buran spacecraft before being used for international cargo flights.
