Riyadh - A Royal Saudi Air Force F-15S fighter jet crashed in the training area of ​​King Abdulaziz Air Base due to a technical malfunction. The official spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Turki al-Malki said on Monday (7/11/2022).

"The flight crew, consisting of two officers, survived the crash after using their ejector seats," the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing the spokesman. "No injuries or ground damage were reported," he continued.


It was previously reported that the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) participated in Exercise Eagle Eye 3 at Souda Air Base in Greece between 7 and 20 November. The participating group was seen at King Fahd Air Base in the West Sector by RSAF Deputy Commander Major General Talal Al-Ghamdi inspecting the preparations. He was briefed on the exercises by the Commander of the participating group Colonel Khalifa Al-Onzi.

Al-Ghamdi described the exercise as promising, noting that previous editions had been successful at all strategic, operational and tactical levels. Meanwhile Al-Onzi said the air force participated with several F-15 aircraft with all their air, technical and reserve crews.

The exercise aims to enhance cooperation between the RSAF and their Greek partners and increase the level of combat readiness of Saudi forces in carrying out cross-border flights, carrying out operational and training tasks and through the exchange of military expertise.
