Ankara - Turki is developing the domestically made TF-6000 engine for use on the Kizilelma (Red Apple) stealth combat drone. By using the TF-6000 engine, Kizilelma can fly up to Mach 2 (supersonic).

This was announced by Baykar Technologies, the maker of Kizilelma through its social media accounts. The TF-6000 engine was created in collaboration with a Ukrainian company. This engine will be produced locally in Turkey by Tusas Engine Industries (TEI).

The TF-6000 is Turkey's first self-developed turbofan engine. The engine that has been in development for the past one year was officially launched in mid-2022 and went into production.

The TF-6000 will deliver a maximum thrust of 6000 pounds. While the afterburner mode will produce even greater thrust of 10,000 pounds.

The Kizilelma drone is equipped with canard wings for increased maneuverability. The UCAV's maiden flight is scheduled to begin next year as quoted by Bulgarian Military.
