China's YU-20 Tanker Aircraft Becomes Attention at PLAAF Open Day

Changchun - The YU-20 air tanker recently started its service in the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). This aircraft is of concern because it frequently appears and is deployed in support of PLAAF air power.

At the PLAAF Open Day event, the YU-20 is displayed statically for the general public to see. The event will be held in Changchun, Jilin, Northeast China on August 26-30, 2022.

In addition to the YU-20, the event featured the J-20 fighter jet and the large Y-20 transport aircraft. This is the first time the YU-20 has been shown statically to the general public.

Meanwhile, the J-20 stealth fighter jet and the Y-20 large transport aircraft made an appearance in the air show. With the new YU-20, China has made an important breakthrough, significantly enhancing the PLA Air Force's capabilities in long-range maneuvering, attack, and long-range defense and long-range delivery.

The YU-20 can support Chinese warplanes to stay in the air longer and reach further American bases in the western Pacific.
