Moscow - Ukraine's chances of joining NATO are zero thanks to Russia's special military operations. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, Tuesday (23/8/2022). "It is clear to everyone that no neighbor can give them any guarantees, no matter how hard they hate Russia," Medvedev was quoted as saying by the TASS news agency.

“And now, no one will agree with Ukraine's admission to NATO. Although there were several Russophobes in the alliance, they did not commit suicide. This is a direct result of special military operations," Medvedev wrote.

According to him, the regime in Kiev continues to create a kind of 'security guarantee for itself that it wants to enjoy in the future. "From time to time they have meetings with neighbours of non-essential individuals, chaired by long-forgotten retirees, or call back NATO," he said.

However, Medvedev believes that "only a deal with Russia can provide security guarantees. But the Ukrainian authorities, stimulated by Western money and missiles, reject it. As a result, the prospects for guarantees for Ukraine are very bleak," he said.

"The regime in Kiev understands that for that (current Ukrainian leaders) that there are no guarantees of security at all and there cannot be. Even the United States will not offer guarantees of a bright future to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It makes no sense," he stressed. Medvedev.

He believes that for now the situation in Ukraine is in the hands of the Biden administration, but "it will end soon." “The next team that will take over in Washington will not hesitate to ditch Ukraine's corrupt scheme along with its accomplices,” Medvedev concluded.
