International Military - Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which began last February, is still continuing today. Even some areas in Ukraine, reportedly have been successfully taken over by Moscow military forces. One of the areas currently experiencing conflict and fierce fighting is in the Severodonetsk region.

Reporting from News Week, in the battle that took place in Severodonetsk this was also conveyed by the Ukrainian president, Zelensky. According to him, the fighting that took place in Severodonetsk could be a determinant of fate in the Donbas region of Ukraine.

Not only that, Zelensky also said that at this time, his troops were trying to maintain this position so that it would not be released into the hands of Moscow. "We defended our position and inflicted significant losses on the enemy," he said.

He also said that during the conflict with Russia, it was a very fierce and difficult battle. This happens because the war in this region will determine the fate of Donbas later.

"This is a very fierce battle, very difficult, maybe one of the most difficult of this war," he added. So with the war raging in Severodonetsk, the Ukrainian army continues to fight relentlessly. "Donbas' fate is being decided there," Zelensky said.

Known last Monday, Zelensky reported that Russian troops are making various preparations to take over Severodonetsk. But the day after, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russian troops had control of 97 percent of the region.

Reporting from the LA Times, almost getting 100 percent of the territory in Severodonetsk was indeed the main goal of the war. Especially when Ukraine admits that they are fighting a tough battle to keep their territory from being taken over.

Regarding the war in Severodonetsk, the spokesman for the general staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Shtrupun, revealed the condition of the region through uploads on his Facebook account. "In the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, the occupiers continue to carry out administrative measures, conducting searches for civilians, looting and destroying local infrastructure," he said.

Reportedly, the Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said that the weapons supplies sent by the US to Ukraine had been destroyed by Russia. The weapons included two artillery systems that were reportedly destroyed by artillery from Russia.
