Tokyo - Russia's Pacific Fleet started exercises with the participation of more than 60 warships and support ships. This news was revealed by the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet on Monday (5/6/2023).

"According to the plan of the military command and control agency of the Pacific Fleet forces in 2023, from June 5 to June 20, in the waters of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, under the leadership of the Pacific Fleet Command Commander Admiral Viktor Liina, operational exercises of various branches of the fleet in the maritime zone a long way to go," said a statement from the Russian Pacific Fleet.

More than 60 warships and fleet support vessels, around 35 naval aircraft, coastal troops and more than 11,000 military personnel were involved in the exercise. "The naval tactical group, together with naval aviation, will train to search for and track enemy submarines as well as conduct combat exercises against surface and air targets," the statement said.

The Russian Pacific Fleet added that an air defense organization would also be worked on. The Russian military continues to increase readiness as the war continues to rage against Ukraine. Kiev continued to receive Western weapons supplies so the battle heated up.
