International Military - The Russian military's T-14 Armata main battle tank (MBT) was not seen in combat in Ukraine. This may have happened because Moscow did not have enough quantities to send them.

As is well known, Russian tank manufacturer Uralvagonzavod first said the T-14 would be delivered in 2018. Then distribution of the first nine tanks would come in 2019. After that, the leadership said 20 would be tested and 80 would be ready by the end of 2021.

There is little reason to deploy some T-14s, which are faster and more capable than the older tanks now fielded in Ukraine. If anything, deploying the most advanced weapons alongside the rest of their ancient tanks would only harm the T-14. However, according to 19fortyfive.com, another consideration is that Russia has nothing to lose.

As is well known, Ukraine has proven to use the British-made Javelin and NLAW to great success. The two weapons were very superior in breaking the movement of the tank.

With that in mind, deploying the T-14 is not worth the risk, but certainly not worth the reputational risk for a largely unproven tank. We May Know Why Russia's New Armata Tank Is Missing From Ukraine The T-14 Armata tank is being touted as a game changer with its capabilities.
